The best workout motivation
As soon as I booked my plane ticket to Texas I knew I had to get into the gym. I wanted to be the best me when I walked off the plane into the land of great tacos, hot cowboys, hunting, and fishing. The problem for me was never figuring out what to do at the gym, I’m pretty self sufficient when it comes to workouts (I also recommend BBG and GraceFitGuide for those struggling). The problem was getting myself to go the gym, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
I’ve tried it all. Or at least all I’m willing to try. Signing up for classes in advance? Tried that, but stopped after one class. Going with a friend? My friends don’t ‘gym’. Workouts at home? *Gets on yoga mat and stares at TV for 10 minutes before moving to the couch* Whoops.
The problem wasn’t getting solved.
So what did I do? I went shopping to relieve myself from the stress I was putting on myself by failing to workout. And what did I get? Lululemon leggings. My first pair to be exact. And look what happened – I immediately got my butt to the gym because damn, my butt looked good and felt awesome. Other pairs of leggings just do not compare and shorts can be troubling when you don’t have a thigh-gap. Resistance band pull throughs, anyone?
So the Lululemon leggings were a success. So much that I went back the next day and got another pair. My bank account hates me, however I justify it because I’ve successfully been back in the gym for three months since buying that plane ticket. Well excluding the week I was in Texas, because no one really needs to workout on vacation.
To those who are on the line about buying the leggings because of their price, look at it as an investment. You’re investing in your health by getting in the gym, and I’ve heard the leggings last forever if you wash them properly (no drying people). So far mine are in great shape for being worn (at least) once a week.
Let me know in the comments if you know of any comparable leggings for a better price.
